Buxton distracted by snow anniversary

Buxton Cricket Club 1st XI were distracted last Saturday by events at the ground to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the famous snow game, crashing to a 8 wicket loss to top of the table Walton on Trent 1st XI. Buxton won the toss and elected to bat but fell all out for 90 runs off 30.4 overs. In reply Walton 91 for 2 off 14.2 overs.

 

Buxton 2nd XI won by 4 wickets at home to Hathersage 1st XI in Division 5 North of the Derbyshire County Cricket League. Hathersage won the toss and batted first making 187 for 9 off 45 overs, congratulations to Lucas Tattersall for taking 4 wickets for 34 runs to top the bowling. Buxton in reply 190 for 6 off 36.2 overs, with Angus Allen top scoring with 65 runs.

 

Buxton 3rd XI game was drawn after 40 overs for both teams in Division 8 North against Staveley Welfare 2nd XI. Buxton batting first scoring 201 for 7, David Belfield 40 and Luca Bartlett 33. Staveley reached 126 for 7 after their 40 overs.

 

Buxton 4th XI did not play but the 5th XI won by 6 wickets against Cutthorpe 5th XI. Cutthorpe 81 all out. Buxton 82 for 4 off 20.5 overs.

 

Highlight of the weekend from a cricket perspective goes to the Womens Hardball team in the Super 8s competition where they defeated both Kibworth and Cuckney.
